Last year we won the Crann Award and our prize was to get 100 trees and plant them with Dale Treadwell.
Dale has been visiting the school for the past 12 years. Over those years, he has come and talked about the
rainforest and ecology to the classes.
The trees were planted on the 8th of November. There were 4-6 people picked from each class to plant
trees in the garden. We planted a selection of trees like oak, birch and beech.
Dale is from South Australia but he now lives in Westmeath. He also has been featured in the young sceintist
exhibition. He has been on RTE many times and he has benn on 'Into the Wild'.
