Hey! We're back! Ratoath's very own Webmasters Lollypop and G.A.A Queen!
This time we're covering . . . THE CONKER COMPETITION!!
Organising it this year was Ms. Dennehy's class.
They had help from Ronan Cahill and a couple of other 6th classers.
First things first, they did the 6th classes.
Anybody who wanted to do it was welcome. All they had to do was bring in a conker on a string
or they could just buy one!
Everyone who put their name down got a chance to play.
But if your conker got a crack or broke - well you were out!
And that was the system all the way to the final.
The two people who got to the 6th class final were David from Mr. O'Sullivan's class
and Seán from Ms.Mc Givern's class.
Both classes got to go down to support the finalists and obviously Ms. Dennehy's got to go down.
It was a fair game and after a bit David smashed Seán's conker.
Both finalists played brilliantly but the winner was declared!
The organisers asked for permission to give David's whole class no homework!
Permission was granted. There were whoops of cheer bursting from Mr. O'Sullivan's class!
The organisers asked Ms. Mc Givern for permission to give Seán no homework- again permission granted.
The class congratulated Seán but were inside a bit upset that they couldn't get no homework!
However a couple of organisers came in and asked that Ms. Mc Givern's class could get no homework as well.
She said YES!!
Obviously the fifth class method was the same and it came down to Darragh and Andrew in Ms.Duffy's class
and Ms.Jackman's class. Again both finalists played F.A.B! It turned out to be a draw!!!
So both classes got no homework!
Boy! Weren't they happy about that!
The fourth classes were the biggest turn out! It took forever but the finals finally came
down to Oisín and Killian for the finals and guess what?! Both finalists were from Ms.Dillons class!
So anyway their class was going to get no homework! But anyway both Killian and Oisín battled fiercly and
it turned out as a draw!
The third classes were a little different.
Each teacher did their own little compettion and got a winner.
They will send their winner to the sixth classers and the final winner will be revealed!
So the conker competition has yet again been a huge success with lots of fun involved!
As usual they all went BONKERS FOR CONKERS!
